Zombie Evolution

Zombie Master,

It seems to me that zombies have begun their own evolutionary process recently. In Land of the Dead, the zombies were beginning to form into social packs, with an “alpha male” leading the group, whereas in the remake of Dawn of the Dead, they had begun to run at great, inexhaustible speeds.

I know there have been other movies eluding to the intelligence of zombies, Re-animator being a prime example. But those had more to do with the folly of mad scientists, then the nature of the beast in question (the same could be applied to Day of the Dead’s “Bub”).

So I guess my question would be; should we, the wary citizen, now begin making plans for dealing with hybrid zombies? Such as, say, zombies aware of the basic escape strategies employed by knowledgeable humans or, perhaps, zombies with their own cunning attack stratagems?

I suppose an example would be much in the same way the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park were able to successfully hunt down and fool Robert Muldoon.

While there are some minor semantical errors in your reasoning, I will not waste time on those because 1. I hate arguing semantics, and 2. the question is still valid regardless of the reasoning behind it.

I live in Memphis, TN and we just went through a mayoral election. I know that the dead voted in it because they have voted in the local elections here for decades. Granted, it does not take a genius to vote, but they did have to manipulate computer touch screens this time so they have evolved somewhat.

I think it would be a disservice to our own survival to not be prepared for anything when it comes to these crafty little critters.

With so many different types of zombies out there, you never know which one you will be facing until it is too late so prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and ...
