Zombie Strippers is Not a Candidate for an Oscar…

With a name like Zombie Strippers what did you expect? This is a solid B movie about zombies and, uh, strippers that is a good break from serious horror.

I would like to begin by saying that anybody who is expecting a visionary masterpiece from a film entitled Zombie Strippers, you should probably give up movie watching. Really, it’s not for you, pick another hobby. For the rest of us though, “camp” is what we expect and “camp” is what we get.

Zombie Strippers starts by making us aware that, in the not so distant future, George W. has been re-elected for the fourth time, fuel is at $25 a gallon, we are at war on almost every continent, and the government has decided that zombification is a neat way of continuing the effectiveness of our armed forces. Not to worry however because all precautions have been taken into consideration and there is no way that the zombies can escape and get out of control. Yeah, right.

Zombie Strippers (2008) Pole Dance ZombieA Special Forces unit is called into the science facility to take out the out of control zombies and one of them is bitten. After seeing one of his fellow soldiers blow the head off of someone else who has been bitten, the soldier decides to make a run for it. He ends up at an illegal strip club. Now it gets good. For any one who does not know who Jenna Jameson is let me just say that stripping was not a big character leap for her. After about 25 minutes of stripping action from several professionals, Kat (Jenna) comes out on stage for a second time and is attacked by the zombie soldier. With a bite taken out of her neck, and everyone seeing her die, she gets up and goes back to her dressing room.

What is a zombie stripper to do? Strip, what else? This time though Kat seems to have an extra passion for it and the crowd, sensing this passion, gets even more into it. When the other girls see the extra money that Kat is getting, they want to become zombies too. The club owner Ian (Robert Englund) sees absolutely nothing wrong with this and even encourages it because he sees his coffers getting filled with more and more cash.

Zombie Strippers (2008) and the Zombie Militia

Here is a film that makes no apologies for what it is. It is a “B” movie. It is a movie about strippers and it is a movie about zombies. There is a lot of gore, exploding heads and gratuitous nudity. What else could you possibly want?

Zombie Strippers (2008) Zombie Lap DanceIf you are expecting more than watching a bunch of strippers do what they are paid to do and then become zombies and keep doing what they are paid to do for a good 90 minutes, then you are expecting way too much. I myself enjoy watching “B” movies that are meant be “B” movies. In the same vein as Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Zombie Strippers is a fun escape from reality and the seriousness of horror.
