I am starting to have a strange case of déjà vu. I could have sworn I just did a review about a zombies and strippers movie not too long ago. Oh wait a minute that other one was about strippers who become zombies. This is about strippers who kick zombie’s butts.
Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! starts out well enough. You meet a group of strippers at a strip club appropriately named “The Grindhouse”. After the evening show, this group of strippers goes across the parking lot to a diner where we meet a group of hoes. While all this is happening, we are introduced to a guy by the name of Lucas as he is trying to get some super-duper crack from a scientist who is supplying him to attempt to get him off of real crack. This super crack gets accidentally mixed with an experimental cure for cancer and Lucas leaves with it. I swear I am not making this up. Eventually one of the hoes meets Lucas and smokes some of the super-crack. In the mean time, we meet up with the pimp of the hoes Johnny “Backhand” Vegas (Anthony Headon). This becomes important later in a non-important sort of way.
The super-crack smoking hoe changes into a zombie and bites another hoe… and it hits the fan. The strippers and the pimp run back to the strip club with Chris (Harley’s brother) and Steven (Dakota’s stalker) who both show up at the same time. After watching newcomers get taken out in the parking lot via security camera and some relative time wasting, Johnny Vegas has an epiphany when he remembers the vial of super-crack that he took from Lucas. Reaching the conclusion that this started the whole zombie thing, Chris and Dallas go to the doctor’s lab to try to find a cure.
A cure is found but you will have to watch Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! to discover how it is administered.
When compared to Zombie Strippers, Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! has less nudity, less gore, less real fake blood, less silicone and more really bad CGI effects. But, Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! had no budget (around $200k), was recorded on HD not film, and is actually funnier.
I would have to say that the saving grace of Triple Z’s is Anthony Headon. I believe all of the dialogue that had me laughing out loud was delivered by Johnny “Backhand” Vegas. When, an hour into the film as the climax is building you hear him say “I am tired of these mf’ing zombies in this mf’ing strip club” and you aren’t laughing your butt off then you, my friend, have anger issues.
So in the end does Triple Z’s have good acting? No. Good directing? No. Good fun from a modern day Grindhouse B-movie? Definitely. Questions or comments about Zombies! Zombies! Zombies!? Discuss it on The Ossuary Forums!
